Interests:
I've always loved "lawss-ann-gah-leez", the "Hydee-Hi and Poop-a-Doo",
...and my memories of the people that I've worked with make me dance just like Stan and Ollie up there.

Knowing the people who are in my list changed my life.

While Hollywood is first in my heart, I also enthusiastically support the film industry of North Carolina.

General:
I like to hear about friends' experiences in Hollywood that reassure me I am not alone here and that my observations have also been made by others. (Essentially, I am comforted to know that other people are just as puzzled by some of these guys as I am.)

For example, perhaps some of my friends here at TH, especially writers, will enjoy this humorus essay about writing treatments as much as I did.

Tribe Hollywood is, as we know, the creative output of some very friendly and wonderful NYU film school graduates. I'm an Ohio University film school alum' myself. I would like to know the alma mater of other Tribe members, too.

Welcome !

I am RODNEY RECOR.
Welcome to my place in the Tribe.
Here in the IMDb / Some Production Credits / My Acting Page

My Dad worked on American Railroads all of his life.
My "grampop" worked at an open hearth furnace all of his.
They both endured gruesome strikes so that I could be here right now.
I support unions. They help us all to survive.
Every American worker should be a union member.

I joined Tribe Hollywood to participate in it's networking opportunitities. But, the first thing I want to do is present some examples of why many of us are here in the first place...

I am here for networking and to build relationships with everyone who makes pictures, so I welcome contact requests. My 'druthers' would be to work with everyone I know at one time or another.

Me:
I shot my first film 39 years ago, and then I went on to spend most of my life in the Hollywood picture business producing and directing, and like many of you, a little bit of everything else. I was once the Film Archivist at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and worked on the Oscar show 12 times editing the film clips. I was on the Filmex staff back in the good (Really!) old early days of the event and Exposition Manager for two years.

I want to develop professional relationships with all creative people in the arts in Los Angeles. I see wonderful possibilites for interaction on the internet with online resources like mySpace and Tribe Hollywood. For example, I have created a mySpace page as a valuable professional networking resource featuring myEnhanced Friend Space Directory,

The Enhanced Friend Space Directory

... a resource for anyone in the arts to use without charge. As a producer, I see everyone I meet on the internet as a valuable asset. If you are also on mySpace, please just send an Add request to be included in the Directory.

Please visit me, "PictureMaker" on mySpace.

Red
Are you seeing RED?

I am excited to now be able to accomplish post-production on my pc, and I'm very enthusiastic about RED. I have several DP friends who now use the system exclusively.

I also represent an outstanding new rental house with all of the best, newest equipment for feature production. When you're ready to shoot a picture, please contact me to save a lot of money with the absolutely greatest deal on your gear!

For several years, I've been an IT professional with my own website development company (rodneyrecor.com) I am also a Disney historian specializing in Walt Disney's backyard train setup, the Carolwood Pacific Railroad -- and webmaster for the Carolwood Pacific Historical Society (carolwood.com), Toonfest (toonfest.us), and Thank You Walt Disney (laughograms.com). (I'm also an alumni of WDW where I worked for a time on the Walt Disney World Railroad.) While at Ohio University, I made the (now outdated) Online Digital Production Manual for Film Students.

Here's my resume and Dixiemedia Productions.

I first came to Hollywood way back in a past life to attend the Pasadena Playhouse, but I never pursued an acting career after I became interested in production instead. I've decided in my semi-retirement to do some acting and I appeared in a feature film recently. I commute now between L.A. and North Carolina. I always enjoy acting in student productions and in the movies of newcomers, and I would very much like to participate in movies by Tribe members, So call me in L.A. or in Dixie if you're looking for an old geezer.

The best cook on the planet, I enjoy organic gardening for producing my own delicious ingredients. I've been a chef in 3 snazzy restaurants, and I enjoy being a private chef. I love summertime, the outdoors, making my own wine, and I am very enthusiastic about achieving my culinary goal.

Rodney: Enjoyed your "Soon to be French Chef" clips. Fun, entertaining . . . & I -- one who gets an allergic reaction any time I get near a kitchen -- learned how to peel a tomato! ; >
